The Sibillini Mountains National Park, with its highest point at Mount Vettore (2,467m), is situated along a mountain range that runs through the heart of Italy. Magic, nature, history and culture have shaped and defined this unique and distinct region. It was here, in 1993, that The Sibillini Mountains National Park was created in the mystic kingdom of the Sibyl. An area of over 70,000 ha was protected in order to safeguard the environment and to promote the use of the park for every kind of person thereby creating a "Park for All". Wolves, golden eagles, peregrine falcons and many other species are the most evident signs of its biological richness and diversity. This richness, the charm of the abbeys and the old medieval towns |
